TCNF partners Cynthia Newton and Chris Thomas volunteered at the Community Cycling Center’s 2022 Holiday Bike Giveaway on December 3, joining with other CCC volunteers and the Legacy Emanuel Medical Center trauma nurses to provide children with a safe refurbished bicycle, new helmet, and basic safety education. This year the CCC gave away 102 bikes–the culmination of a full year’s work by mechanics who refurbished bikes donated by the community to make them fully operational, like-new and ready to serve a child who wants to own and ride a bike but whose family can’t readily afford one. The Holiday Bike Drive and other community bike drives are made possible by year-round support from CCC volunteers.
