STCN’s Ray Thomas participated on a panel at the National Walking Summit in Washington D.C. on October 1st 2013. The Walking Summit joins national and local leaders to engage in conversations and sessions that will help with the investment in and development of strategies and ideas about walking and walkability in cities and communities across the nation. The Walking Summit, which is composed of capacity building sessions over a span of three days, also incorporates walking and physical activity into a conference format (Walking Tours).
Alongside Yolanda Savage-Narva, America Walks National Campaign Director, Ray was on the “Walking Justice and Legal Rights to the Street,” panel that focused on walking as a human right and the legal structure that supports that right.
