On October 12, Cynthia Newton spoke to Foot Traffic’s Women’s Academy (“FTWA”) before their Saturday morning training session. Cynthia’s talk focussed on pedestrian rights and safety issues, emphasizing rules governing road, sidewalk, shared use path and crosswalk usage as well as the respective responsibilities of pedestrians, cyclists and motorists in each. She also addressed pedestrian visibility and stopping distances involved in pedestrian/vehicle collisions.
