Cynthia Newton’s Talk at the Oregon Law Institute’s “Trial Practice: It’s All About Persuasion.” June, 17, 2015

STCN partner Cynthia Newton was an invited speaker at the Oregon Law Institute’s “Trial Practice: It’s All About Persuasion” held June 17, in Portland. Cynthia’s talk on Civil Jury Instructions discussed how consideration of standard jury instructions during case selection, discovery, voir dire, opening statement, witness examination and closing argument, provides a solid foundation undergirding a solid and focused case presentation.  The Institute is the continuing legal education arm of the Lewis and Clark Law School.  Cynthia, who served on the State Bar Civil Jury Instructions Committee from 2008-2011, and ultimately as Chair, focuses her trial practice on bicycle/pedestrian collision, third party workers’ compensation and medical negligence cases.
