Talking to your doctor about your disability case

When you meet with your doctor, be organized and be sure to share the following key pieces of information:

1) Pain levels – If you were in bed two of the last seven days due to pain, be sure your doctor knows this.

2) Functional limitations – If you are struggling with your activities of daily living, or having problems with things that used to be easy for you, discuss these issues with your doctor.

3) Medication side effects – If your prescribed medicines are making you tired, or cognitively fuzzy, be sure your doctor is aware of this.
